*When booking my flight, whats the destination I need to look at?
You need to book your flights to Bogota – Colombia
*I have food allergies, do you have diet alternatives on your menu?
Yes, our menu is very healthy, based on Colombian Vegetarian diet with plenty of tropical fruits and juices. There is a question on the Registration Form asking about any food allergies you might have, if this is your case, we will let our wonderful cooks know about it.
*Do I need to get a Yellow Fever vaccine or Malaria before travelling to Colombia?
No, the jungle areas involved in the retreat has no Yellow Fever or Malaria alert, so no need to worry about it, and also you won't be asked at the airport for any certificates. But you may be advised by your local GP to get these vaccinations so it is entirely up to yourself.
*If I plan to arrive earlier before the journey starts or stay longer after it, do you have information about possible hostels?
Yes, you will have a list of recommended hostels in Bogota for your arrival. This information will be on your Welcome Pack. Airbnb is a good option
*Do you offer pick up service at the airport?
We can help you to plan you arrival under request, also Uber platform is the best option whilst been in Colombia
*Are there any hidden fees?
No, there are no hidden fees, the cost of the retreat includes everything, travel (including local plane ticket to the Caribbean Coast), accommodation, 3 delicious meals per day plus snacks and fruits, entrances to natural parks, tours, ceremonies, plus all the workshops and materials used.
*Is my flight to Colombia included in the price?
No, you have to book your own return ticket. We strongly advise to book your ticket well in advance to get good promotions. The pilgrimage journey is in Low Season, therefore you can expect good fares. There is a list of suggestions for your travelling plan in your Welcome Pack.
*Do you have a list of suggested things to bring and/or wear?
Yes, this will be sent in your Welcome Pack.
*Can I pay via Paypal?
Yes, but for Paypal payments you need to add an extra 5% (Ex £400 → £420) or please get in touch to give you the Email to do a direct transfer
*Would I have time off to wander in villages to buy some goodies?
Yes, in some of the locations there will be time to wander off and get beautiful and traditional handcrafts, so we recommend you to come with space in your luggage as we know you will return with extra baggage! (plus your drum!)
*What is the currency in Colombia, is it ok to pay in Dollars?
The currency is Colombian Pesos ($), you can NOT pay with dollars in Colombia, although you can easily exchange your money at the airport on your arrival. If your currency is not “very popular”, we recommend you to try and exchange it in your country of origin.
For US Dollars, then it will be very easy to exchange in Colombia. Also you can easily use any cash machines to withdraw when you arrive, or sometime during the journey, that's the best option but don't forget to let you bank know about your trip! you don't want them to block your card whilst travelling.
*Do I need to be concerned about safety in Colombia?
No, Colombia has improved in many areas over the last two decades. There are different signs to recognise this, for example, Colombia was recommended as top 1 location to visit in 2017 by Lonely Planet! also Europe has removed the Visa requirement for Colombia which means that for the first time in history, Colombians can travel freely through the whole of Europe! And last but not least, since the 9th of November 2022, The UK also removed the Visa requirements to Colombia, meaning that Colombians can also stay for up to 6 months in the UK without Visitors Visa! Colombia is a country like many others with internal and centralised conflicts, but we can assure you that the areas you will be travelling are very well known for their safety and warm people welcoming you very openly, giving you an unforgettable joyful memory for your life.
*Can I withdraw my money using cash machines in Colombia?
Yes, you can use cash machines to withdraw your money with a commission depending on your Bank. Also please don't forget to let your Bank know that you will be in Colombia during that period of time, otherwise they might block your account when trying to withdraw or making a payment.
*Whats the electric voltage in Colombia and do you have a reference for the convertor I need for my electrics?

*I want to remain reachable to my family and/or friends, will my roaming signal be ok in the areas we will be travelling?
Yes, although we recommend participants to take this time to “disconnect” we understand that some will need to be in touch for various reasons. In the past, participants have used their roaming service without problem. This can result in expensive bills depending on your operator. We offer the option of getting you a pay as you go SIM card with internet for the time of your trip with an extra cost added to your retreat fee. Details for this process will be sent in your welcome pack.
